Ooops, II mean the rider missed on this one.
How fast a correction is
accomplished can be just as important as doing it right the first time.
Many a race has been won with a speedy correction. All too often,
competitors stop thinking as soon as they make a mistake and worse, even
stop competing! Whats important is to think about how you are going to
correct not just correcting. In this case, the rider has come back to set
the mug to the pole. Hes keeping the pony with him, that is, keeping it
moving. As he sets the mug to the pole, he will continue to bring the
pony around the pole, turning it all in one motion. The mug is set and
the pony is already in position and facing the right direction, ready to
be vaulted and go.
How many times have you watched riders correcting a
mistake and only after this is accomplished, thinking about where the
pony is? It all needs to happen at the same time. In MGA finals, there is
no room for error. If you make one, youd better fix it and fix it fast.
